Yogurt is a dairy product obtained from milk by fermenting it with bacteria or fungus.

 There are many kinds of yogurt like half-fat, fat-free, and full-fat yogurt. there is also a kind with sugar and another with fruit or honey, and some supplements are added to some kinds such as vitamins or Omega-3 or Probiotics to promote the health benefits of yogurt.

Yogurt is important because it is rich in healthy nutrients like calcium and proteins which facilitate digestion. It contains other nutrients such as riboflavin, and the group of vitamins B, K, D and E, folic acid, lactic acid, potassium, phosphorus, iodine, and zinc.

Benefits of yogurt for health and body

The benefits of yogurt are innumerable as a healthy food that contains the beneficial bacteria that the digestive system needs, besides all the nutrients, acids and sugars that are released by fermentation.

Yogurt benefits the stomach and digestion because of its content of acids and probiotics, which provide many advantages by bringing the natural balance of the living organisms within the stomach or by working directly on the functions of the body, such as the vital digestion or immune functions. It is known that yogurt is the only one that contains probiotics. Yogurt can lower high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Since yogurt contains calcium, it is useful for bones, burning fat in the body and strengthening the muscles. High calcium yogurt stimulates the body to burn fat and not to allow new quantities to be stored, while low-calcium food increases the production of enzymes produced by fat. It also contains lactoferrin, a protein that promotes the growth and activity of bone-building cells, as the lack of this protein is responsible for osteoporosis.

Yogurt is used in reducing the belly fat and contains beneficial bacteria that help the digestion to get rid of the inflation and cleanse the stomach of waste and rid the mouth of bacteria causing the undesirable odor.

Yogurt is a therapeutic food that is effective in reducing the incidence of colon cancer because of its ability to increase the activity of the immune system. It is good in cases of hepatitis, and it calms the nerves.

It moisturizes the skin and gives it freshness and delays wrinkles because it contains vitamin D necessary for good health and vitamin E, which is essential in maintaining the health of the skin.

 

Methods of making yogurt

A yogurt dish can be served by adding some dry thyme, mint or honey, or a little lemon juice. And can also be eaten naturally without any additives.

Yogurt is also served with olive oil, sesame or black seeds to add more benefits to yogurt and to be considered as a light and tasty snacks.
